Tata Steel was on Friday given
the go-ahead to build a carbon ferrochrome smelter in
South Africa after a provincial government concluded
that its construction would not cause any environmental
damage. The multi-million rand high carbon smelter would
be built in Richards Bay town, north of here, KwaZulu-Natal
Provincial Government Minister of Agroculture and Environmental
Affairs, Gabriel Ndabandaba told reporters.
