Tata Steel’s Naomundi iron mine has been conferred with the Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra Award 2000, by the National Afforestation and Eco-Development Board, under the Ministry of Environment and Forest. The mine supplies iron ore to Tata Steel and is one of the biggest and fully-mechanised iron ore mines in Jharkhand.
