Tata Relief Committee reconstructs eleven schools in Orissa

Jamshedpur: The Tata Relief Committee (TRC), in collaboration with the Orissa Disaster Mitigation Authority  (OSDMA), has completed the reconstruction work on eleven school buildings-cum-cyclone shelters at seven super cyclone hit districts. The project was completed in just eleven months.

The project started in April 2003, after a memorandum of understanding was signed between TRC and OSDMA. All eleven schools were handed over to the school  authorities, in February. Located in the coastal districts of Orissa, these schools list of school is, Pratasasan Khurda High School and Bhetinath Dev Vidyapitha School in Khurda, Madan Mohan High School and Biswanath Dev High School in Puri, Rasulpur High School in Jagatsinghpur, Rameswar Nial G. P. High School in Kendrapara, Dolamandap High School in Bhadrak, U. N. Academy School in Balaswar and Ekram Rasul High School,  Khetrapal High School, Baleswar High School in Cuttack.

Besides the reconstruction of the buildings, TRC has spent Rs 13.75 lakh on providing furniture and electricity to the schools.
