Consequent to the
retirement of Sujit Gupta, the Tatas have with effect from
November 1, 2002 appointed M A Pathan as the group’s
resident director in Delhi. He will represent the group’s
interests in matters pertaining to the government and of
relevance with the environment in Delhi.
Mr Pathan was
earlier the chairman of Indian oil Corporation Ltd, India’s
only company to have been listed in the Fortune ‘Global
500’, from February, 1997 to March, 2002. He has had 40
years of diverse experience in the oil industry and has been
the recipient of several prestigious awards. He is a graduate
in economics with specialisation in petroleum management from
Cambridge, USA.
