Ratan Tata Trust scholarship for
studies in India, 2002-03

The
Sir Ratan Tata Trust awards merit scholarships
to students studying in India covering their tuition
fee, at the undergraduate or postgraduate level.
For the financial year 2002-03, the trust’s scholarship
programme will commence in October 2002. The criteria
for applying for the scholarship are given below.

11.30 am to 1 pm
- The
scholarship is open to all resident Indians
and is NOT exclusively
open to wards (children) of
Tata employees.
- No
recommendation from any Tata / ex-Tata employee
or any other person will be encouraged.
- Only
students meeting the following criteria would
be issued the scholarship form for the year
2002-03:

- Students
studying in the first year of the five-year
integrated law (LLB) are NOT eligible to apply.
Only students currently studying in the second
/ third / fourth / fifth year are eligible to
apply. Similarly, all students pursuing three-year
law (LLB) after graduation are eligible to apply.
- All
students who have passed their 12th (HSC)
and have secured admissions to the first year
engineering or medicine or pharmacy or nursing
or architectural courses are NOT eligible for
the scholarship.
- Students
studying for BSc, BCom, BA, BBA, or their equivalents
are NOT eligible for scholarship. Similarly,
students doing ICWA, CA, CS, CFA will NOT be
eligible for scholarship.
- NO
forms will be issued to students studying diploma,
part-time, correspondence or certificate courses.
- Only
one student per family may benefit from the
scholarship, each year.

- The
scholarship is open to undergraduate students
enrolled in engineering colleges affiliated
to the Mumbai and Pune University only.
- For
undergraduate / postgraduate students studying
in law, catering and hotel management, education,
fine arts and postgraduate social sciences (MA),
the cut-off percentage is 65.
- The
cut-off percentage for MSc is 75.
- For
MCA / MCM the cut-off percentage is 70.
- For
students enrolled in first year PhD, the cut-off
percentage is 70.
- For
postgraduate students studying in engineering,
medicine, pharmacy, nursing and architecture,
the cut-off percentage is 70.
- Students
who meet all the above criteria and wish to
apply, may come personally to Mulla House, 3rd
floor, 51, M G Road, Fort, Mumbai – 400 001,
along with a photocopy of:
- Current
year’s tuition fee receipt (April 2002 -
March 2003) or admission letter for second
year direct admission students and
- Marksheet
of the last examination appeared for.

Send
a written application (no e-mails) on or before
October 30, 2002, (the trust shall not be responsible
for postal or other delays), along with the above-mentioned
photocopies, addressed to:
