TMTC goes online
May 21, 2002
Satish
Pradhan, executive vice president, group human resources, Tata
Sons Limited, inaugurated the official website of the Tata
Management Training Centre (TMTC), Pune, on May 13, 2002.
Present on the occasion were N. Srinath, the executive director of
VSNL, the centre's director, V. J. Rao, and the TMTC team.
The website — www.tmtctata.com
— provides information on the various training
programmes conducted at TMTC, and details of
course contents, faculty and infrastructure.
Equipped with extensive search facilities, this information
portal is available for use by both Tata and non-Tata executives
for a nominal fee.
The website is
divided into three main sections: catalysing learning, training
solutions and knowledge centre.
-
'Catalysing
learning' deals with TMTC's ideas and innovations in
training in leadership building and management. The section also
introduces the 'alumni club', along with its benefits, and has offers
for past participants of TMTC programmes.
-
'Training
solutions' gives information on the various training
programmes conducted at TMTC, and a listing of the year-long training schedule. Participants can sign up online
to participate in these programmes.
-
The 'knowledge
centre' has information on the vast collection of books,
journals, magazines, videos and CD-ROMs at TMTC.
The
website is a result of efforts put in by Neeti
Kaikini, the information systems manager at TMTC,
and Mamta Joshi, the centre's librarian. The website
has been jointly developed by Design Directions,
a Pune-based design studio, TCS and Softaid.
