Inauguration of Tata Central Archives

The
Tata Central Archives at Pune was inaugurated
on Tuesday, the 13th of February 2001
by Mr. Ratan N. Tata, Chairman of the Tata Group
of Companies. Mr. T. R. Doongaji, Managing Director
of Tata Services Limited welcomed the Chairman
and other dignitaries of the Tata Group of Companies.
Mr. Russi M. Lala, the chronicler of the Tatas
and the Honorary Director of the Tata Central
Archives gave an opening address on the history
of this Archives and outlined the significance
of the records of the Tatas for the future. Mr.
Ratan Tata spoke about the family of Tatas and
their contribution to the nation. He inaugurated
the first exhibition organised by the Archives
on Jamsetji Nusserwanji Tata, the founder of the
House of Tata. Several directors and senior executives
of the Tata Group of Companies were present at
the function.
