Murthy, Tata, get Padma Vibhushan

Arcelor-Mittal chief LN Mittal,
Infosys chief mentor NR Narayana Murthy, hotelier PRS
Oberoi and the man behind the Nano, Ratan Tata are among
those from trade and industry who have been honoured
with the Padma Vibhushan this year.
RK Pachauri, a co-winner of the Nobel prize this year,
has also been honoured with the Padma Vibhushan.
SK Neotia, a promoter of Gujarat Ambuja; Baba Kalyani
heads one of the biggest auto component companies, ICICI
chief K V Kamath, IT major Shiv Nadar, and Citigroup
chief Vikram Pandit have been honoured with the Padma
Bhushan.
Economists Meghnad Desai and Kaushik Basu have also
been awarded the Padma Bhushan.
Economist Nirupam Bajpai, the Indian face of the World
Economic Forum, Collette Mathur and secretary general
of Ficci Amit Mitra have been awarded the Padma Shri.
Doctors, artists and educationists are among largest
number of those who have been awarded the Padma Shree,
including three journalists: Rajdeep Sardesai, Vinod
Dua and Barkha Dutt.
