New-look Tata site

India's premier business house has a new look on the Web, clean, elegant and much more informative, www.tata.com is neatly divided into various broad sections which include 'our companies', 'products and services', 'our commitment', 'media room', 'investor desk', 'careers', 'knowledge centre', and 'Tata group worldwide', among others. Under each of these heads, separate links provide enormous information on the group, which can be easily accessed and used. For instance, the section on history is quite well illustrated with a timeline from 1868 to 2005.

It also informs visitors that the Tata group's businesses are spread over seven business sectors, comprising 91 companies and active in six continents. The group employs some 2,20,000 people and collectively has a shareholder base of over two million. Similarly, media section contains an informative press kit and names and contact details of key officials in every group company. Another interesting section is on the group's worldwide operations, listing group offices, international alliances, select articles as well as a special section on the Tatas in Africa.

A stimulating and provoking section is 'Knowledge Centre', which has articles on technology, research and development, intellectual property rights and on various knowledge initiatives. The section also has white papers, which are background research papers on issues such as globalisation, organisation development, etc. Finally, it also has a section on the group's ad gallery, showcasing some of group's prominent and artistic advertising campaigns.
