Company affairs minister Prem Chand Gupta has set up an expert group headed by former Tata Steel managing director JJ Irani for the proposed amendments to the Companies Act. The group Will take a close look at the plethora of comments received on the concept paper released in August and formulate provisions that will have to be incorporated in the Companies Act amendment bill to be introduced in the Budget session of Parliament, sources said. "The group will consolidate responses of the apex trade and industry bodies, financial institutions and professional bodies and other sources."
