donate 22 schools to quake victims

Ahmedabad: Tata
group’s relief and rehabilitation division, Tata Relief Committee (TRC),
recently donated 22 school buildings in the quake affected Rapar
taluka of Kutch district to the Gujarat government.
A group statement said that
TRC has completed the project of constructing 22 school buildings
consisting of 123 classrooms in a record time of eight months. The
total project cost is Rs 3.15 crore. It said that the school buildings
are designed and constructed as per rigid engineering standards, which
can withstand any natural calamities including an earth quake.
The government of Gujarat
contributed Rs 75,000 per classroom for 99 classrooms in 17 primary
school buildings. Other contributions were Chennai based Murugappa
group and Gujarati Samaj of Jamshedpur.
