Tata
sky hopes to garner bigger market in Kerala The
New Indian Express February 23, 2007 Tata
Sky is aiming at a new sky in Kerala. The DTH (direct to home) television company
is hoping that it can penetrate more in Kerala market with its Active Wiz-kid
service. Vikram Mehara, head of consumer marketing, Tata Sky, told reporters in
Kochi that the inter-active educational sendee would enhance a child's classroom
learning through entertaining, yet educational games. "I
have interacted with principals of 32 schools in Kochi and they have been very
much impressed by our new service, which helps children in the age group of three
to six to study their lessons through the medium of fun filled games, audio instructions
and animated mascot" he said. Tata Sky offers a parental control service,
which empowers parents to regulate what their children watch on television. The
company reckons that since Kerala gives more importance to education than any
other state in the country, the new sendee will give an edge to it in the Kerala
market. The density of TV is also very high in the state. The company launched
its service in August 2006 and is offering75 television channels. including seven
interactive services. Over a million people across the country watch TV programmes
using the service of Tata Sky, the company said. |
