TRL’s R&D Laboratory gets ISO 17025 certification

The Research and Development Laboratory of Tata Refractories has been accorded the prestigious NABL Certificate of Accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEO 17025: 2005. This certificate has been awarded in recognition of company’s general competency in chemical and mechanical testing. TRL is the first and the only refractories manufacturing company in India to be found eligible for this certificate. NABL is an accreditation body under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India. NABL (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) accredited labs are recognised by accreditation bodies of the USA and the EU. By virtue of this, testing certificates issued by TRL are now acceptable in more than 60 countries worldwide.

The NABL accreditation will enable TRL to deliver top line products to the refractories market. This also ensures that company’s customers worldwide can have 100 percent confidence in product quality certified by its laboratory.

The company’s R&D laboratory is one of the most well equipped facilities in the country. Setup in the year 1972, this laboratory has been engaged in development of new products, quality control and testing of raw materials and products. Headed by a general manager and manned by highly qualified technical personnel, it is equipped with state-of-the art testing equipment. The laboratory has also been approved by the Department of Science and Industrial Research, Govt. of India, as well as by the Sambalpur University for doing PhD Degree.
