Tata Power's executive director (operations) S Padmanabhan conferred the Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIM Bangalore

The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB), community conferred the IIMB Distinguished Alumnus Award to S Padmanabhan, executive director (operations), Tata Power, at its annual convocation on March 25, 2008. The award recognises his valuable contributions to the organisation and to the country.

Mr Padmanabhan joined Tata Power as executive director (operations) with effect from February 6, 2008. In his role as executive director, he is responsible for all the company's operations, including the Mumbai licence area business and also the Maharashtra projects. Prior to this assignment, Mr Padmanabhan was the executive director and head, global human resources, at Tata Consultancy Services.

Mr Padmanabhan has a rich experience in large-scale project build up and delivery, and is highly acclaimed for global sourcing and value creation in operational efficiencies. He is a gold medalist in electronics and communication engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, as well as a Glaxo gold medalist in the marketing stream from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.
