Anil Kumar Sardana appointed executive director of Tata Power

The Tata Power Company has appointed Anil K Sardana as executive director with effect from March 1, 2007. Prior to this assignment, Sardana was the managing director of North Delhi Power Limited (NDPL), an associate company of Tata Power for power distribution in New Delhi. Sardana will be responsible for strategy and business development function at Tata Power.

In addition to transforming NDPL to deliver an improved performance in substantive ways, Sardana has demonstrated a track record of delivery and senior level interface. He has received the Asian & South Pacific Utilities Associated CEO of the Year Award 2005 and Asian Power CEO of the year 2006 award announced by the Asian Power Journal, Singapore. An electrical engineer with 27 years of professional experience in the power industry, Sardana has previously worked with NTPC and BSES.
