Appointment
of Mr. F. A. Vandrevala as deputy
managing director of Tata Power

As
part of succession planning, Mr. Firdose A. Vandrevala,
Deputy Managing Director, Tata Steel, will be
joining as Deputy Managing Director, Tata Power,
effective 1st November 2001.
Mr.
A. J. Engineer, the current Managing Director
of Tata Power, will be retiring from the Company
on 31st August 2002 and Mr. A. M. Sahni will be
laying down office as Executive Director on 31st
October 2002.
Mr.
Vandrevala is currently the Deputy Managing Director
(New & Allied Businesses) of Tata Steel. Mr.
F. A. Vandrevala is a B.Tech. (Elect. Engg. Hons.)
from IIT, Kharagpur and has obtained his Post
Graduate Diploma in Business Management from XLRI,
Jamshedpur.
Mr.
Vandrevala joined Tata Steel in 1972 and has held
various senior positions prior to being elevated
to the position of Deputy Managing Director.
His
term with Tata Power will be initially for five
years effective 1st November 2001 and will be
subject to the approval of the shareholders of
the Company, which will be obtained at the next
Annual General Meeting.
