Power's Q1 2001 - 2002 revenues up at Rs 986 crores

Power, the countrys largest private sector
power utility, announces its un-audited results
for the three months ended 30th June,
2001.
Performance
Highlights
- Total
revenues increase to Rs. 986 crores from Rs.
915 crores in the corresponding quarter last
year.
- Operating
profit for the quarter was higher at Rs. 197
crores as against Rs. 188 crores last year.
- Net
profit after tax increased around 5% to Rs.
86.6 crores from Rs. 82.7 crores in the corresponding
quarter last year.
Operational
Highlights
- Total
power sales higher at 2713 million units compared
to 2470 million units.
- Operations
of new 120 MW unit at Jojobera along with the
existing 67.5 MW unit and the captive unit at
Wadi, contribute an increased share of revenues.
- The
construction of the second 120 MW unit at Jojobera
and the new captive addition at Wadi are both
progressing to schedule and will be commissioned
in this financial year.
- The
rainfall this year is about 20% better than
last year to date, and so also has been the
water inflow into its lakes. This should benefit
the Company by allowing it higher hydro generation.
