Tata Motors Shared Services bags award for best use of technology
September 04, 2006

Tata Motors Shared Services has been awarded for the “Best use of Technology in Shared Services” instituted by the International Quality and Productivity Centre (IQPC). The IQPC is a world-wide organisation for promoting best practices and knowledge sharing amongst various industries. Tata Motors was also a finalist in the ‘Best New Shared Services’ category.

The Shared Service Excellence Awards is the only globally recognised peer program in the industry, providing a unique opportunity for companies to compete for recognition and respect of their competitors. Established in the late 1990s, the IQPC Shared Services Excellence Awards is the longest-running awards program recognising, honouring and promoting excellence in Shared Services operations.

Entries were received from a wide cross-section of government and private sector organisations in the Asia Pacific region, and the winners were short-listed by a panel of leading shared services practitioners, drawn from industry.

A A Phalke, head (Shared Services) along with P M Bhide, senior manager (Shared Services) and H C Morgaonkar, manager (Shared Services) attended the award ceremony at a glittering function held at The Grant Hyatt Hotel, Singapore on August 22, 2006 . A A Phalke received the award on behalf of Tata Motors. Tata Motors was also one of the finalists at a similar competition organized by IQPC, Australia in April 2006.
