Tata
Motors Shared Services bags award for best use of technology

Tata
Motors Shared Services has been awarded for the Best
use of Technology in Shared Services instituted
by the International Quality and Productivity Centre
(IQPC). The IQPC is a world-wide organisation for promoting
best practices and knowledge sharing amongst various
industries. Tata Motors was also a finalist in the Best
New Shared Services category.
The Shared Service Excellence
Awards is the only globally recognised peer program
in the industry, providing a unique opportunity for
companies to compete for recognition and respect of
their competitors. Established in the late 1990s, the
IQPC Shared Services Excellence Awards is the longest-running
awards program recognising, honouring and promoting
excellence in Shared Services operations.
Entries were received from a
wide cross-section of government and private sector
organisations in the Asia Pacific region, and the winners
were short-listed by a panel of leading shared services
practitioners, drawn from industry.
A A Phalke, head (Shared Services)
along with P M Bhide, senior manager (Shared Services)
and H C Morgaonkar, manager (Shared Services) attended
the award ceremony at a glittering function held at
The Grant Hyatt Hotel, Singapore on August 22, 2006
. A A Phalke received the award on behalf of Tata Motors.
Tata Motors was also one of the finalists at a similar
competition organized by IQPC, Australia in April 2006.
