Novus heavy commercial vehicles launched to set
a new era on the Indian roads

Tata
Motors today launched the Tata Novus range of heavy
commercial vehicles. The Tata Novus range includes tippers
being launched today and to be followed by tractor-trailers
and other application vehicles. The Tata Novus range
is powered by 300 PS engines and will have advanced
telematics technology for vehicle tracking and vehicle
performance monitoring. With these and other features
for comfort, ergonomics, safety and driveability, the
Tata Novus will set new benchmarks on the Indian roads.
The Tata Novus range is the result
of collaborative development efforts between Tata Motors
and Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicles, South Korea. The
Tata Novus range was launched in 2004 in South Korea
and has built a strong position in Korea and over fifteen
countries. The Tata Novus range has been adapted and
optimised for Indian operating conditions, and offers
low operating costs and is backed by excellent service
support and easy availability of spares. The Tata Novus
range of vehicles is being manufactured at the newly
created world class facility at Tata Motors, Jamshedpur.
The Tata Novus range features:
- 300 PS, 8.3 litre, 6-cylinder
turbo-charged intercooled Cummins diesel engine;
- Stylish, ergonomically designed,
air-conditioned cabin;
- TRAK i.t Vehicle
Locater GPS system for vehicle tracking;
- TRAK i.t Vehicle
Data Recorder - for critical vehicle and driver performance
recording;
- Wider and stronger ATOS 80
steel frame, optimised for load and stress distribution;
- Electrical systems that ensure
vehicle start in neutral gear, as an enhanced
safety feature
- Factory-fitted, front end
tipping system from HYVA, with different load body
configuration options
The Tata Novus world-class product
range is backed by the Tata network of dealerships and
service stations, numbering about 450, with world-class
service initiatives like on-site support, single-point
contact, 24-hour backup and membership to the Tata Novus
Club with special privileges and rewards.
The product and the service offering
of Tata Novus ensures speed, power, comfort, style and
safety, with improved fleet efficiency, minimum down-time
through tracking systems and low operating costs.
R N Tata, Chairman of Tata Motors,
