Tata Motors November 2004 sales continue growth

Tata Motors reported a total sale (including exports)
of 31,428 vehicles in November 2004, an increase
of 24.4 per cent over 25,255 vehicles sold in
November 2003. During the period April-November,
2004, the company’s total sales were 247,205 units
as against 190,639 units sold in the same period
last year, representing a growth of 29.7 per cent
.
Commercial vehicles (CV)
The company sold 15,774 commercial vehicles in
the domestic market in November 2004, an increase
of 24.9 per cent over 12,626 units sold in November
2003. Total CV sales in the domestic market during
the period April-November, 2004 were 116,394 units,
an increase of 29.9 per cent over 89,620 units
sold in the corresponding period last year.
M&HCV sales for the first eight months of
the year stood at 79,614 units (59,840 units last
year), representing a growth of 33 per cent ,
and LCV sales at 36,780 units (29,780 units) grew
23.5 per cent .
Passenger vehicles
The company recorded sales of 13,089 passenger
vehicles in the domestic market in November 2004,
a growth of 22 per cent over November 2003. Cumulative
domestic sales for the fiscal at 115,369 units
are growing by 28.2 per cent over last fiscal.
The Indica registered a sale of 7,580 units in
November 2004, growing by 27 per cent over November
2003 sales. Cumulative sales for the Indica this
fiscal at 69,670 units are growing by 31 per cent
. The Indigo Marina continued to have a strong
demand pull in the third month of its launch,
with the Indigo family having sold 2868 units
in November 2004, a growth of 23.5 per cent .
The company’s offerings in the entry mid-size
segment are growing by 29 per cent this fiscal.
The utility vehicle sales at 2641 units in November
2004 have grown by 9 per cent with cumulative
sales of utility vehicles at 19,967 units showing
a growth of 5 per cent .
Exports
The company’s exports for the month of November
2004 were 2,565 units as against 1904 units sold
in November 2003. Cumulative export nos. for the
first eight months of the fiscal at 15,442 units
are growing by 39.7 per cent over 11,057 vehicles
exported in the corresponding period last year.
