Tata Engineering introduces the 'EX' series of medium and heavy commercial vehicles
August 16, 2002

Vijayawada: Tata Engineering, India’s largest commercial vehicles manufacturer today unveiled a new range of medium and heavy commercial vehicles aimed at providing a value-added package to the users. The 'EX' series of vehicles is packed bumper-to-bumper with features that provide:

  • EXtra power and torque, which provides superior pick-up, faster turnaround; therefore more trips, more revenue.
  • EXtra fuel efficiency to reduce operating costs.
  • EXtra reliability and durability, which ensures the vehicle is on the road for longer distances.
  • EXtra driver comfort that reduces fatigue.

Explaining the strategy behind the introduction of the EX series,  Ravi Kant, executive director, commercial vehicle business unit, said, "Our revitalisation plan for medium and heavy commercial vehicles is based on executing the fundamentals of our business to build great products. With the introduction of the EX series, our customers will have a wider choice of products, more options to choose from and access to products that can be easily customised for end use."

The EX range of vehicles will be available in the 16, 25, 30 and 35 tonnes capacity along with the existing range of products.

The power-packed engine delivers a higher and superior torque that ensures superior acceleration and accented pulling power for faster turnarounds. Higher fuel economy and lesser number of gearshifts for EXtra driving comfort.

The rehauled rear axle promises better reliability and longevity while the G600 gear box delivers improved fuel efficiency and better drivability. The use of multi-grade oil in the EX series now doubles the oil-change period of the G600 gearbox.

The cabins and bodies have been fitted with EXtra strong steel that permits heavier payloads and higher security. The cabins of the EX series contains twin sleeper cushion berths and a single piece windshield with tinted anti-glare band for better visibility. Cabins are insulated with NVH — which effectively reduces fatigue and encourages longer runs.

The EX series enjoys the Tata advantage of a two lakh / two year warranty on the engine and access to the nationwide network of 1103 certified service centres. The toll-free 24-hour customer assistance centre can be contacted on 1 600 115 370. Tata Engineering additionally provides a comprehensive company annual maintenance contract facility under the Sampoorna Seva Scheme that ensures superior hassle-free service.
