Indica tops its segment in September

Spurred by the launch of the V2 petrol, Indica has emerged as the largest selling car in its segment in September '01 with a sale of 5405 nos.  The Indica has consistently been amongst the top 3 cars in its segment since launch, but it is for the first time in September '01 that it has acquired the number one slot in an eight-model segment consisting five manufacturers.  Indica had earlier clocked the milestone sale of 100,000 cars in March 2001 within two years of commencement of its deliveries.

In a month when most manufacturers and brands have seen significant declines, September '01 sales of the Indica are 51% higher than September '00 sales and 5% higher than August '01 sales.  This growth comes on the heels of a 49% growth in August '01 and a robust performance in the preceding months.  Cumulative sales for the year (April - September '01) at 27535 nos are 10.3% higher than the same period in the last financial year.
