Tata Engineering launches Indica CNG
May 15, 2001

Tata Engineering announced the launch of the CNG version of the Indica in select markets of Delhi and Mumbai. The car is available in two models – standard and air-conditioned.

True to its "More car per car" positioning, the Indica CNG offers all the core benefits of the Indica combined with the advantage of CNG. The car comes equipped with a factory-fitted CNG kit and complies with the highest of safety standards and those prescribed by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).

Special attention has been paid to the enhancement of range with two CNG tanks of 22 and 50 litres' capacity. To save on space, the smaller tank is fitted under the body shell and the car comes with a split rear seat which can be folded to enhance storage capacity.

The air-conditioned version of the car is priced at Rs.3.49 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi whereas the standard version is priced at Rs.3.29 lakh.
