Tata Motors expects 15-20 per cent jump in sales of Indigo, Marina
Hindustan Times — September 11, 2006

Tata Motors on Saturday said it was expecting 15 to 20 per cent growth in the sales of its C-segment sedans, Indigo and Indigo Marina, with the incorporation of new features in these two models.

"With the introduction of premium features in Indigo and Indigo Marina, we expect the sales of these cars would jump by 15 to 20 per cent," Tata Motors assistant general manager (North) Deepankar Tiwari told reporters in Ludhiana after launching the new range of Indigo and Indigo Marina.

Tata Motors, which holds 33 per cent market share in C-segment cars, currently sells 4000 units per month in the country.

The largest automobile company of the country finds metro cities as potential market for its C-segment versions. "We find NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Punjab as potential markets for us," said Tiwari.

Tata Motors launched Indigo in December 2002 and Indigo Marina in September 2004. Till date, the company has sold over 1,25,000 Tata Indigo and Indigo Marinas on the Indian roads.

The company has introduced premium features including new dual-chamber headlamps, chrome-lined fascia, chrome insert rub rails etc, in Indigo sedan. While in Marina, the company has incorporated monochrome tail lamps, new bumper, leather seats, video player etc.
