Tata
Motors unit wins CII-Exim Bank award
The
Hindu Business Line September 1, 2006 The
Commercial Vehicles Business Unit of Tata Motors has won the Confederation of
Indian Industry (CII) - Exim Bank Award for Business Excellence 2005.
Six
other companies have been chosen for `Significant Achievements' and 32 others
for `Strong Commitment to Excel'.
These companies, hailing both from the
public and private sectors, include group companies of BHEL, NTPC, BEL, GAIL,
Tata, L&T, Reliance, Kirloskar, Coca-Cola, Murugappa and Aditya Birla Group.
Congratulating the winners, CII President Mr R Seshasayee said that the
award represents the transition of Indian industry from an insular and defensive
existence to an outward looking and confident one in the last two decades, adding
that the TQM initiatives of CII had played a major role in this process.
Past
recipients of the award (instituted in 1994) include Hewlett Packard, Maruti Udyog,
Tata Steel and Infosys Technologies. Infosys was the last company to win the award
in 2002. Between 2002 and 2005, no company had won the award. |
