Tata Motors sales rise 24% in November

Tata
Motors has reported a 24.4% increase in total
sales (including exports) to 31,428 vehicles during
November 2004 compared with the corresponding
month for the fiscal. During the period under
review, sales in the commercial vehicles segment
grew by 24.9% to 15,774 (12,626 in the year-ago
period). Passenger vehicles grew by 22% to 13,089
over last year, a Tata Motors statement said.
During the eight month period of April-November
2004, total sales grew by 29.7% to 2,47,205 vehicles
(1,90,639 units). Sales in the commercial vehicle
segment in the domestic market during the period
grew by 29.9% to 1,16,394 vehicles (89,620 vehicles).
The medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV)
sales during the eight-month period stood
at 79,614 vehicles (59,840), registering a growth
of 33% while that of light commercial vehicles
(LCV) grew by 23.5% to 36,780 vehicles (29,780).
In the passenger vehicle segment, cumulative domestic
sales grew by 28.2% to 1,15,369 vehicles
during the eight month period in the current year
over that of the last fiscal. The Indica registered
a sale of 7,580 vehicles in November 2004 growing
by 27% over the corresponding month last year.
For the eight-month period ended November 2004,
the Indica sales grew by 31% to 69,670 vehicles,
the release said.
