crosses two lakh sales mark

Tata
Engineering has crossed the two lakh mark in sales
of its flagship passenger car Indica, inclusive
of exports, within 43 months since commencement
of its sales. While the first one lakh units were
sold by March 2001, within a span of 25 months,
the second one lakh units were picked up (purchased)
by the customers in just 18 months, the company
said in a release.
Indica
has maintained its leadership position in B-segment
of the car market since September 2001, except
for April-May 2002 period when the manufacturing
plant underwent planned shutdown, the company
added. Indica’s sales have grown by 26 per cent
in April-August 2002 period against segment growth
of 10 per cent. |
