Tata Engineering is planning to introduce low-floor (LF) buses for passenger transportation in various states. Regional manager of Tata Engineering Syamal Dasgupta told reporters that with the WTO regime setting in, it would be difficult for Indian manufacturers to survive in the market with buses made out of truck chasis. He said Telco had already introduced LF buses in Bangalore, where Swedish automobile giant, Volvo, was also operating similar passenger vehicles.
