An MoU was entered on November 22, 2004, in Dong Guan, China, between Tata South Asia Limited (TSEA) and M/s Providential Group, China to strengthen Tata International’s footwear manufacturing capabilities in China.

Under this arrangement TSEA will bring in new concepts and orders as well as handle the customer relationship management, whilst Providential will provide production engineering, manufacturing facilities, technical services and quality management.

Sudhir Deoras, managing director, Tata International signed the MoU on behalf of TSEA with Billy Tseih who signed on behalf of Providential. This arrangement was signed in the presence of TSEA vice president, Vivek Tamhane, and Wendy Tsai and Kenneth Tsai of Providential.

This arrangement would help Tata International in its footwear forays in China as a part of Tata International's globalisation efforts.
