Malgham, executive director of Tata International,
retires
June 21, 2001
HH Malgham,
executive director, Tata International Limited,
retires from the company on 22 June 2001.
Mr Malgham
joined Tata International (then known as Commercial
and Industrial Exports Limited) as secretary and
chief accountant in November 1963. He has been
a part of the companys history from its
beginning as an export house to its progressive
transformation into Indias leading Golden
Super Star Trading House with a wide network network
of overseas offices and subsidiaries.
As an executive director, he has been responsible
for corporate affairs of the company and was director
of and responsible for liaison with Tata Internationals
ten wholly-owned overseas subsidiaries.
During
his thirty-eight year career with the company,
Mr Malgham has handled a wide portfolio of assignments,
including heading finance, secretarial and legal,
taxation, personnel and administration, as well
as a posting in London as regional director.
He has
also actively facilitated collaborations and joint
ventures for the Group, and was also actively
connected with the operations of the Companys
joint ventures. He is a director of a number of
other companies, including Tata Projects, Tata
Ceramics, Tata Elxsi, Tata BP Solar, etc. as well
as, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India.
He has
been a very active representative of the company
on specialist committees of the CII, ASSOCHAM,
FIEO, BCCI, IMC, etc. and has successfully headed
several business delegations under the auspices
of the CII.
The King of Morocco recently honoured him for
promoting Indo-Morocco trade relationships. For
his promotion of Indo-Moroccan trade relations,
His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, on his
recent visit to India, decorated him Commander
Du Wissam Al-Alaoui.
