Tata Infotech Ltd in
partnership with the Computerised Inventory Control Project (CICP)
team of the Army Ordnance Corps has completed a multi-crore
inventory management and an MIS project for the army.
The integrated
inventory management application has been developed
by Tata Infotech using Java Enterprise Beans (J2EE)
technology and the Pilot phase of this project
has more than 1,500 screens, the company said
in a release here on Wednesday. Modern material
management techniques have been incorporated in
CICP, which would result in enhanced transparency,
asset visibility and customer satisfaction, it
said. CICP system would bring in savings through
reduced inventory carrying costs and accurate
provisioning, it said.
