Bangalore: Tata
Infotech and iServ India, a fully owned subsidiary of the
Escorts group, have formed an alliance to provide remote
mangagement services (RMS).
The alliance will
provide monitoring, onsite and offshore management services for
the IT infrastructure for corporates.
The services include
network management, server management, hosting web services,
disaster recovery, backup and storage management and managed
security.
iServ India, CEO,
Kushal Banerjee said, "With this alliance, Tata Infotech’s
expertise in system integration and network integration will
totally be complemented by iServ’s 24 X 7 service provisioning
skills."
According
to Mr Banerjee, iServ has an IP backbone covering
12 cities across India and additionally has the
capacity to reach out to 21 more towns. The company
has built network operating centres (NOC) in New
Delhi and Kochi.
Tata Infotech,
senior vice president, system integration division V
K Malhotra said, "These kind of services
will boost the optimal utilisation and performance
of IT infrastructure of the companies. Our alliance
would be providing services on subscription basis."
Tata Infotech
would be the front end for the alliance, while
iServ will manage the back end of the services,
said Mr Malhotra.
