Tata Infotech has been awarded the contract to connect seven of Indian Oil’s refineries and three offices with WAN (wide area network). Tata Infotech is expected to design and install the network structure, which will form the backbone of IOC’s future plans for installing internet telephony and running SAP software online. This project is in addition to Tata Infotech’s earlier initiative of networking 50 of IOC’s marketing locations and a campus-wide LAN (local area network) at the Panipat refinery.
