Chemicals wins the World Class award from Asia Pacific
Quality Organization

Tata
Chemicals has won the World Class award from Asia Pacific
Quality Organization (APQO), which recently announced
the winners of the International Asia Pacific Quality
Awards. The awards will be presented at the APQO / China
Association of Quality Conference in Shanghai, China,
between October 18-20.
"We are pleased to announce eight organisations
from Asia and the Pacific Rim that are exemplary companies
of world-class quality performance as evidenced by winning
the International Asia Pacific Quality Award modeled
after the US Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence
Awards," said Charles Aubrey, chairman of APQO
and the International Asia Pacific Quality Award Executive
Committee.
The following organisations won the World Class Award:
Large manufacturing:
- Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Shanghai, China
- PT Indo Liberty Textiles, Karawang, Indonesia
- Tata Chemicals, Fertilisers Business, India
This is the seventh year of the awards with participation
from a record number of companies as well as countries.
About the Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO)
The APQO was founded and organised by National Quality
Organizations in Asian and Pacific Rim countries including
the American Society for Quality and was incorporated
in the Philippines in 1985. It is a non-profit organisation
formed to be a primary mover of continuous improvement
for goods and services and quality of life in the Asia
Pacific Region. APQO has several hundred national quality
organisations (core members), corporate members, and
individual members.
