Chemicals bags four FAI awards

Tata
Chemicals Limited has bagged four awards from
the Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) in the
award ceremony held recently at Delhi. TCL Haldia
won the Best Production Performance Award - Single
Super Phosphate Plant and Environment Protection
Award - Single Super Phosphate (SSP) while TCL-Babrala
won the Award for Excellence in Safety and the
Best Technical Innovation Award.
Said
Kapil Mehan, coo, fertiliser business, "Public
acknowledgement in the form of FAI awards is a
motivation for our teams to carry on our journey
towards excellence to emerge as a global benchmark
manufacturing site at our Babrala fertiliser complex".
This
is the third time that the Haldia plant has been
awarded for its SSP operations. Said V Shankar,
coo, phosphates business, "Receiving the
FAI Award for the Best Overall Performance of
the SSP plant three times in a row is an emphatic
endorsement of the superior operating efficiencies
at Haldia. What is very encouraging and rewarding
is the acknowledgement in environment protection
- a focus area for the company".
The
Fertiliser Association of India (FAI) organises
an annual seminar every year in the month of December
where stalwarts from Indian fertiliser industries
as well as foreign delegates from industry participate.
The award ceremony was held during the FAI seminar,
which commenced from Dec 8, 2004 and was inaugurated
by minister, department of Fertiliser and Chemicals,
government of India.

Fertiliser
