Tata Chemicals net up 47 per cent to Rs94 crore

Tata Chemicals, country's leading
inorganic chemicals and fertilisers maker, has posted
47 per cent rise in net profit to Rs94.44 crore for
the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007, against at
Rs64.42 crore in the same period last fiscal.
The Tata Group company's total income (net of excise),
including interest on refund of tax, stood at Rs814.68
crore for the January-March quarter against Rs779.16
crore for the corresponding three-month period in 2006.
"The previous year's figures reflect the results
of Brunner Mond Group between January 1 and March 31,
2006 and in respect of the JV, IMACID, for the period
from May 1, 2005 to March 31, 2006. Hence, the previous
year's figures are not comparable," Tata Chemicals
informed the BSE.
The board has recommended payment of dividend at Rs8
per share aggregating to Rs201.33 crore, including tax
payable on dividend pay-out.
For the year ended March 31, 2007 the company recorded
profit after tax (PAT) of Rs444.21 crore, where as the
same was at Rs353.03 crore in the previous fiscal, Tata
Chemicals said.
Total income (net of excise) for the fiscal was at Rs4,088.74
crore, while the same was at Rs3,601.94 crore for the
year ended March 31, 2006.
On a consolidated basis, the group posted PAT of Rs508.04
crore for the 12-month ended March 31, 2007, whereas
the same was at Rs428.34 crore last fiscal.
Consolidated annual total income (net of excise) of
the group was Rs5,907.35 crore, while the same was at
Rs4,117.77 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006.
