Tata BP Solar to supply solar power systems; also bags the All India Award for Engineering Excellence

Tata BP Solar has won a letter of intent worth Rs11.3 million from PT Sempec Indonesia, a subsidiary of Punj Lloyd, India, for supply of solar power systems to four offshore platforms. The systems would power RTU / gas detection equipments and navigational aid systems for the B-134A, HI, HJ and HSC platforms. PT Sempec has been entrusted by ONGC for re-development of Heera Oil Well head platforms.

The company has also won recognition for its outstanding contribution to engineering exports in the year 2005-06, by bagging the All India Award for Engineering Excellence - 2005-06 (star performer) Award in the 'miscellaneous engineering goods' category. The award is instituted by the Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) established under the sponsorship of ministry of commerce, government of India, for promotion of export of engineering goods, projects and services from India. K Subramanya, CEO, Tata BP Solar India, received the award from Kamal Nath, union minister of commerce and industry, on June 1, 2007, at New Delhi.
