BP Solar bags Srishti Good Green Governance Award 2006

Tata
BP Solar has bagged the Srishti Good Green Governance
Award for the year 2006 in the area of manufacturing
industry. The awards were distributed on Earth Day celebrated
on April 22, 2007, at a function organised by Srishti
at Kota House, by Kamal Nath, mnister for commerce and
industry, government of India.
The award, given at the national
level, has been instituted by Srishti Publications to
be a driving force for sustainable environmental management
excellence in both manufacturing and service sectors,
leading to improved corporate business performance.
Applications were invited from
corporate entities in various categories from all over
India - in manufacturing, service, infrastructure and
utilities, education, tourism and hospitality. There
were two slabs in each category, for different scales
of operation, based on turnover. In all 6,000 applications
were sent all over India to corporates, institutions,
NGO's, etc.
This is the first time
that this award has been instituted, and is given for
going that extra mile towards preserving the environment
than what is the required by the ISO14001 norms.
