Tata AutoComp GY Batteries (TGY) is a 50:50 joint venture (JV) between Tata AutoComp Systems (TACO) and GS Yuasa International (GYIN), Japan. Established in February 2006, TGY offers comprehensive battery solutions to the Indian market with a focus on latest technology in automotive and inverter batteries. TGY batteries will drive the TACO group's retail aspirations with a nationwide service and distribution network setup catering to the secondary market and is being further strengthened to cater to OE customers as well.

Areas of business
TGY Batteries use the latest technology and are environment-friendly with a focus on automotive and inverter batteries. It has a single manufacturing facility in which critical manufacturing processes like lead oxide formation, paste mixing, plate formation, assembly, charging, testing etc are carried out while non-critical processes are outsourced.

Extensive anti-pollution equipment as per international norms ensures that the manufacturing process is environment friendly. Advanced calcium-calcium technology is used instead of the traditionally used dangerous chemical elements. The harmless calcium used in the calcium-calcium technology makes batteries environmentally clean, inoffensive and safer to use.
