Tata
Autocomp Systems pips TCS & Zensar Technologies
wins battle of the software pros in Pune
July 7, 2006
Tata
Crucible once again provided a platform for nail-biting
finishes, this time in Indias motown, Pune. The
rain did not deter either the participants nor their
supporters who turned up in droves at the Taj Blue Diamond
yesterday to take part in Indias toughest business
quiz.
The quiz was made even more entertaining
and exciting as it witnessed an audience of nearly 300
to cheer the teams, the largest audience till date.
The Tata track finished with
Tata Autocomp Systems beating Tata Consultancy Services
(TCS) in a tie-break. Whats interesting is that
barring TCS, the other finalists in the Tata track were
all first-timers.
The non-Tata track was very close
to call with no clear leader till the final four questions.
Several companies that had not featured in the past
made it to the final, making the event all the more
interesting. In fact, one advertising agency
Savoir Faire came in all the way from Goa and
even made it to the final six.
Finally Zensar won the quiz with
Ignify coming in second and Infosys joint third with
Godrej Boyce. Savoir Faire was fourth by just 5 points
while HSBC rounded it off at the fifth spot.
The Crucible Quiz continues its
journey across the country with the Mumbai round tomorrow
(July 8). Those interested can register on the spot
while for the other centres, those interested can register
at www.tata.com.
The remaining schedule is:
New Delhi (July 9), Hyderabad (July 11), Ahmedabad (July
14), Chennai (July 15), and Bangalore (July 16).
There are highly attractive
cash prizes at stake, making Tata Crucible
one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the Indian
quizzing calendar. The national winning team will walk
away with a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh and a host of other
exciting prizes from the Tata Group, along with a beautiful
trophy for each member. There are also fabulous prizes
at each regional round for the audience from Titan,
Westside and Tata Indicom, to name a few. Additionally,
Group companies such as Tata Motors, Tata Steel and
Tata Asset Management are also partnering the event
in order to make it an even bigger success.
