Tata
Mutual Fund launches Tata Indo-Global Infrastructure Fund
August 27, 2007
Tata Mutual Fund, a pioneer in
the infrastructure mutual fund space in India, is all
set to introduce its new offering called Tata Indo-Global
Infrastructure Fund. This new fund offer opens on September
3, 2007 and closes on October 16, 2007.
The fund provides wealth creation
opportunities through investment in infrastructure-listed
equities in India and other countries. The company believes
that its experience will help identify opportunities
in Indian and overseas infrastructure related equities
through this NFO. It adds that it will partner global
organisations that will help in identifying opportunities
abroad.
Tata Mutual Fund has been among
the pioneers in the Indian infrastructure sector through
Tata Infrastructure Fund which was India's first mutual
fund dedicated to infrastructure and related sectors.
This fund was launched over 30 months ago.
The advantages of Tata Indo-Global
Infrastructure Fund are as follows:
- Advantage of past experience: Tata Mutual Fund has
experience in the infrastructure sector through managing
the Tata Infrastructure Fund.
- Advantage of spends on Indian and global infrastructure:
Indian investors can now, for the first time, tap
the wealth creation potential of both Indian and global
infrastructure development.
- Advantage of diversification: Investment across
a range of infrastructure assets and low co-relation
with traditional asset classes leads to opportunity
to reduce portfolio risk.
- Advantage of need to build infrastructure locally:
Infrastructure cannot be imported and has to be built
by local companies. Hence experience shows that local
companies benefit from infrastructure spends.
Key features of the fund:
- A three-year, close-ended equity scheme. Upon completion
of three years, the scheme will automatically be converted
into an open-ended scheme, without any further reference
from the mutual fund / trustee / unit holders.
- The investment focus would be guided by the growth
potential and other economic factors of the countries.
Looking at the current global economic outlook and
estimates of infrastructure spending, the fund managers
expect to have a focus on investment opportunities
in India and other growing economies.
- Dividend and growth options available.
Minimum application amount Rs10,000
and in multiples of Re1 thereafter.
