Tata Africa has a strong presence in over ten African
countries with investments exceeding $100 million. A
subsidiary of Tata International a global company
with a turnover of $1.6 billion it was established
in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1994.
With humble beginnings going
back to the 1970s, the company has, over a period of
three decades, entered into joint ventures and partnerships
with several African companies to help develop the resources
and human talent inherent in Africa. Its total revenues
in 2006 stood at $210 million.

Employing over 750 people, the company operates in major
industrial sectors such as automobiles, steel and engineering,
chemicals, information technology, hospitality, farming,
