CM unveils Ginger hotel

The Indian Hotels Company Ltd
(IHCL) today unveiled its 'Generation Next Smart Basics
Hotel' - 'Ginger' in Agartala. This is the first such
hotel in the North east India. Chief Minister Manik
Sarkar inaugurated the hotel at Khejurbagan on Airport
road.
The hotel is expected to be a three star category hotel.
The hotel has 101 rooms at affordable price.
Inaugurating the hotel, Chief Minister urged the authorities
of Ginger group to explore opportunity of opening hotels
at Udaipur, a religious tourist hotspot and Charamnagar
in North Tripura.
He said that the central government was contemplating
to offer a package tour involving Northeastern states
and Bangladesh.
"If the plan is implemented, the hotel industry
will get extra benefit", he said. Chief Minister
also praised Suman Bhattacharjee, proprietor of the
construction farm for speedy completion of construction
of the hotel.
In his address, Industries Minister Tapan Chakraborty
said that the opening of Ginger hotel would usher in
infrastructure development in the state. The state government
had to face trouble when the Thai business delegation
visited the state to explore feasibility of investment",
he said.
In the similar line, Chief Secretary Sashi Prakash
admitted that the state could not host some important
summits or conferences due to lack of proper accommodation
and hospitability.
"However, this will not happen as the Ginger hotel
opened here", he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Prabhat Pani, Chief Executive
Officer, Roots Corporation Ltd mentioned various facilities
available in the hotel.
He also hailed Mr. Bhattacharjee for the building the
hotel on time and maintaining quality of the work. In
fact, the Ginger hotel is most attractive hotel in the
capital town for its unique design and facilities.
Among others, Principal Secretary, Srivastava and Commissioner
Sudip Kumar Roy were also present in the inaugural function.
