State needs more category hotels CM

Chief Minister Manik Sarkar appealed
to Ginger group to establish star hotels at Dharamanagar
and Udaipur to encourage tourism in state. He made this
appeal during his address on the occasion of unveiling
of the Smart Basics hotel Ginger at Kherjurbagan today.
The Gen Next 'Smart Basics' Hotel from the Indian Hotels
Company Limited completed with an expense of Rs 15 crore
and within record time of 16 months. Here it can be
mentioned that this 101 room hotel in Khejurbagan is
the latest addition to the growing Chain of Ginger Hotels
across the country and it is the first hotel of this
group in North Eastern States and 9th in the country.
Referring it as the first start hotel with 3 star facility
Chief Minister said, we are not satisfied with 3 star
facilities only. He opined about necessity of more star
category hotel in the state. Chief Minister appealed
to Ginger group to maintain service like other states.
He expected that quality and standard of hotel service
will increase with the competition of this hotel alongwith
many other hotels in the state. Chief Minister said,
we want to encourage other businessman of state and
invite outside investors to establish star category
hotels in state.
Industry Minister Tapan Chakraborty explained the
necessity of such star category hotel for accommodation
of foreign tourist. Referring Hotel industry expanding
in state he informed that more private parties have
shown interest to open hotel in state. Giving the information
of incentive for hotels above 2 star category in new
Industrial Policy of centre for North East, he expected
that Ginger will maintain it's quality and standard.
Chief Executive Officer of Roots Corporation Ltd. Prabhat
Pani said, "We are proud to complete the hotel
in time." He appreciated the cooperation of state
government and work of contractor Suman Bhattacharje
to complete the hotel in time. He informed about mini
fridge, tea and coffee outlet, water heating and CFL
lighting system in the hotel. Referring other guest
facilities he said the hotel would include a restaurant,
meeting room, gymnasium facilities, a cyber café,
24 hours reception, automatic check in kiosk, ATM etc
facilities in the hotel. Chief Secretary Sashi Prakash
was also present on the occasion.
