Tata Power's Industrial Energy organises employability training in Kalinganagar, Odisha

Kalinganagar| Bhubaneswar: Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, has always strived hard to improve the lives of its communities. In line with this philosophy, the CSR team of Industrial Energy, Kalinganagar, organised an employability training for youths in the region to develop their soft skills for a better future. The training programme was organised in association with TCS, Kolkata.

During the training programme, 40 graduates from Jaipur district underwent employability training at the Career Development Centre (CDC) at Duburi, near the Kalinganagar plant. TCS, Kolkata, offered trainers along with material for the programme. Till date, 18 batches of graduate students have been trained in Odisha and close to 325 candidates have been provided employment opportunity by Tata Power in TCS, Kolkata.

The main objective of the training programme was to enhance soft skills of the students to shape them as better professionals in the IT company. The training module also focused on developing office etiquettes among the participants to prepare them for future jobs in TCS, banking, railways etc. Successful students will also get a chance to appear for a selection test conducted by the TCS HR team at CDC, Kalinganagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijayant Ranjan, CEO-IEL, and chief, Kalinganagar, said, “We, at Tata Power have always emphasised on providing quality education and training for the youth of the communities for their holistic development. The training programme organised in association with TCS, Kolkata, is another step towards empowering the youth of the region. We are thankful to our partners in organising the training programme and would strive hard to organise such initiatives in future as well.”

During the programme, the focus and the hard work of the participating students were duly appreciated by Mr Ranjan. He also appreciated the participation of students in a rally on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan organised by the employees of IEL at Duburi Chowk.
