The plants were jointly inaugurated by Akhilesh Pati Tripathi, MLA, Government of Delhi, and Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD, Tata Power-DDL, in the presence of senior officials from the company, beneficiaries of Women Literacy Centers, members of the Self Help Groups (SHGs), ABHAs (Women Brand Ambassadors) of the area and residents of the colonies.

These RO plants have a capacity to purify and dispense 500 litres of water every hour and would provide potable water to over 5,000 people residing in the colonies at a nominal charge of 10 paise per litre. The day-to-day operations of the ATW RO plants will be managed by women members of the SHGs working in these clusters. These SHGs were formed by Tata Power-DDL to address the issue of unemployment and to infuse the spirit of entrepreneurship among women.

In his address, Mr Sinha said, “Health and education along with employability are key areas on which Tata Power-DDL has centred its sustainability activities. Access to potable water is must and the installation of Any Time Water RO Plants by Tata Power-DDL is an effort towards the same. The move is also resulting in financial independence among women belonging to the underprivileged section of the society.”

Tata Power-DDL had previously installed 45 RO water plants to provide safe drinking water to schools, colonies and commuters at Delhi Metro Stations.
