Tata Power Delhi Distribution organises Annual Rewards and Recognition and Cultural Event for ABHA members

  • More than 200 members from over 220 JJ clusters participated in the event

New Delhi: In a bid to support women empowerment, Tata Power Delhi Distribution (TPDDL) today organised its Annual Rewards and Recognition and Cultural Event for ABHA members, wherein more than 200 members from over 220 JJ clusters of the company’s social innovation initiatives participated. The event recognised the outstanding efforts and achievements made by the ABHA members.

The attendees participated in various cultural programmes such as music, dance, poetry and skits on the subjects of women empowerment, heath awareness, etc. The best ABHAs were recognised and honoured for their contribution to bring in the change.

ABHA members are women representatives for the programmes under TPDDL’s social innovation initiative — Saathi. ABHAs are engaged in reaching out to the residents of JJ clusters in order to maximise the visibility and benefits of community initiatives being run by the company. 

Addressing the participants at the event, Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD, TPDDL, said, “We at Tata Power-DDL continue to work towards the upliftment of the underprivileged section of the society, specially women, by empowering them through focused social innovation initiatives. The ABHA initiative helps women to empower themselves both socially with improved personality and respect in the society as well as financially by having a regular income”.

TPDDL has embraced several community development and welfare initiatives to educate, empower and to bring transformation in the lives of illiterate and uneducated women, students and youth who all are the occupants of JJ clusters of north and northwest Delhi under its social innovation programme named Saathi. The initiatives are benefiting thousands of underprivileged individuals and giving them opportunities to accomplish their dreams.
