Tata Power-DDL sensitises over 1 million consumers to make 'Earth Hour' a success
- Sharing awareness through SMS and electronic direct mailer
- Ropes in over 450 RWAs and 30 IWAs to mobilise the movement at the ground level
- Launches social media campaign to sensitise people on energy conservation practices
- WWF-India appreciates Tata Power-DDL’s support in spreading the message of Earth Hour and the Give Up to Give Back movement
New Delhi: Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), is sensitising over 1 million consumers to join WWF’s global campaign for raising awareness on climate change issues – ‘Earth Hour’. ‘Earth Hour’ will be observed worldwide on Saturday, March 24, wherein people and institutions from across the world will switch off their electrical appliances and non-essential lighting for one hour from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Tata Power-DDL aims to save 80MW this year. Last year Tata Power-DDL managed to save around 70MW during Earth Hour.
The company is sensitising the consumers through sessions and by sharing awareness through SMS’s and electronic direct mailers. The company has also has roped in over 450 RWAs and 30 IWAs and to mobilise the movement at the ground level.
Tata Power-DDL will also organise several candle light marches during the Earth Hour in association with residential welfare associations (RWA) members in its distribution area North and North-West Delhi. It is also spreading the pre-Earth Hour awareness through its campaign ‘#EarthWorth’ on its Social Media Channels (Facebook & Twitter) where people are requested to share their powerful practices on energy conservation at various places like home, office etc.
WWF-India has also appreciated Tata Power-DDL’s support in spreading the message of Earth Hour and the Give Up to Give Back movement.
