Tata Power launches Club Enerji at Ranchi

Commences its nationwide energy conservation campaign by introducing a school outreach programme in the city

Ranchi: Club Enerji, Tata Power’s nationwide energy conservation programme was launched in Ranchi after successful implementation in cities such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Jamshedpur, Belgaum, Lonavla, Bengaluru and Kolkata.

The programme has been launched with DAV Kapildev School in Ranchi, wherein around 100 students were taken through a training session and workshop focusing on methods and means of energy conservation. The company intends to extend this campaign to the other schools in the city thereby attaining the desired target of sensitising maximum citizens.

D Santra, head, Tiruldih project, said, “We are overwhelmed by the enthusiastic students and support shown by the school for this drive. We believe these students will be the ambassadors for energy conservation and spread the message to their family, society and the community at large. We pledge to spread the message of energy conservation to as many citizens as possible."

Through this initiative, Tata Power believes in involving schoolchildren, the decision-makers of tomorrow; to play a vital role in not only propagating efficient usage of energy but also furthering the larger cause of educating the society on resource conservation.

The initiative aims not only at bringing down energy consumption in their homes, but also at spreading the message in their neighbourhood. Principals and heads of the educational institutions are taken on board for their belief and support as they not only will encourage the young minds but play a supervisory role.
