Tata Motors Blaze de Rajasthan concludes in Pink City

 
  • First competitive time-speed-distance off-road activity organised by Tata Motors

Jaipur: Blaze de Rajasthan, the first competitive off-roading motorsports rally, organised by Tata Motors, successfully concluded in the Pink City of Jaipur on Sunday, June 10. The day long 300km rally was flagged-off from Hotel Fern, with over 53 vehicles of different makes, competing in a time, speed and distance challenge.

With the rally comprising of three main categories – 4WD, 2WD and women’s team, the event saw participation from motorsport enthusiasts from all over the country. Participants from Kashmir, two teams from Kolkata and almost eight participants from north, south and western India participated in the event. Participants maneuvered challenging routes and rugged terrains prepared specially for this off-roading activity with the routes customised in-line with the experience and expectations of participants, ensuring they made the most out of their vehicles.

Speaking on the occasion, Jatin Lakra, head, marketing, Sumo and Grande, Tata Motors, said, “We are delighted with the response and participation we have received after hosting the first edition of a competitive off-roading rally in Jaipur, with SUV and passenger car owners from across the country participating. Tata Motors through its motorsports division, Tata Motors Full Throttle, hopes to create and cultivate motorsports in India, by giving enthusiasts a platform to experience the true capabilities of their vehicles and to learn and discuss the thrill of motorsports.”

The terrain of Tata Motors Blaze de Rajasthan encompassed in-city drives, hilly tarmac sections, sandy trails and extreme trail and tracks specially made to test the navigation skills of participants. Thar Motorsports was the programme partner for planning and execution of this event with Tata Motors, organising all logistical, medical and service support for these expeditions.

Tata Motors Full Throttle recently launched two other off-roading properties for owners of Tata Motors SUVs, under the Full Throttle banner called Tata Motors Full Throttle Experience and Tata Motors Full Throttle Trails. Full Throttle Experience is an off-roading expedition which spans over a number of days, with the first expedition being flagged off from New Delhi on June 22. A total of six experience expeditions have been planned over the year. Full Throttle Trails are half-day off-roading events that have a total of 21 trails, with the next trail being organised in Ludhiana on June 17.

Tata Motors was the first manufacturer in the country to create a new SUV segment with the launch of Tata Sierra in 1991, followed by the launch of Tata Sumo in 1994. The Tata Sumo became the first passenger vehicle to cross one lakh units in three years. Tata Motors was also a pioneer in launching a true-blooded SUV in India with the launch of the Tata Safari in 1998. Shift-on-the-fly (electronic) 4X4 on the Tata Safari was introduced for the first time by any automobile manufacturer in the country. The feature packed Tata Aria was launched in 2010. Torque-on-demand system, in-dash GPS-based navigation system, electronic stability programme, hydroform chassis and six airbags are some of those features.
